Student Internet Access Policy Change for 2015-16
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Widefield School District desires for your student to have an information rich education. We believe this requires all students to have access to the Internet at school. Our board policy regarding the Internet has changed to reflect this philosophy. Under the new Board Policy JS-Student Use of Internet Electronic Communication, we no longer require parent permission before we will let your student access the Internet at school on a school owned device. †Instead, we expect that students will use the Internet unless you as the parent/gaurdian explicitly and annually submit the Annual Internet Opt-Out Form (See Board Policy JS-E) and return it to your studentís school.

Opt Out Form
Questions regarding this policy may be directed to me, Keith Mann, at†mannk@wsd3.org†or by calling my office at (719) 391-3023.
Thank you,
Keith Mann

WideField of Dreams - Nic Bates

Meet the new face of Halftime Magazine, Mr. Nic Bates!†Nic is a senior and talented musician at Widefield High School. †He plays the clarinet, saxophone, and is a drum major. He recently made the front cover of Halftime Magazine, the largest publication dedicated to the marching band arts. Nic is also a member of the Northglenn Performance Theatre Group and will be performing at the WGI World Championships in Ohio.† Nic will be going to UCCS in the fall to study nursing and hopes to one day create a program that allows hospital visitors to help the nursing staff care for patients. He also wants to continue music and perhaps one day play percussion with his brother.†
Varicella (Chickenpox) Vaccine Info for 8th-12th Graders
This letter is offered to update you on the varicella vaccine requirement for students in 8th through 12th grades for the 2015-16 school year. The Colorado school required immunization schedule now follows the national Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and all students, kindergarten through 12th grade, will be required to show evidence of 2 varicella vaccines at the beginning of the new school year.
