As many of you know the former state assessment program – TCAP – has been replaced by the new CMAS – Colorado Measures of Academic Success. This spring students in grades 3-11 will take the new on-line assessments in the areas of English/language arts and mathematics. For the first round of testing the dates are March 3rd -March 27th. Students will complete three units for English/language arts and two units for mathematics. These new assessments are intended to measure the level of command a student has on the Common Core State Standards. Please be sure to look for a testing schedule to come home in February. As in the past we ask that you try and not schedule appointments or vacations during the testing window, it is so important that students complete each test in each content area.
If you are interested in seeing what the new assessments look like and what types of questions your student will be given to show their knowledge and application of skills simply go to - there you will have a choice of selecting the level for grades 3-5, 6-8 or high school.
