Matthew Moore is a 4 grade student at Webster Elementary who dreams of one day becoming a four-time Olympic Gold Medalist in wrestling. Matthew is on a winning streak this year after taking the Monster Match Champion title in November at the national wrestling competition. He also won second place at the Bighorn Nationals wrestling competition. Matthew is now preparing for his next match in December at the Dan Gable tournament. Matthew says he loves everything about wrestling, but mostly enjoys the friends he has made. Good luck and congrats on your journey to the Olympics Matthew!
One of the first steps each building takes in creating their unique PBIS system is to create expectations for all students. Staff will decide what the most important rules or expectations are in their building in order to create a culture of positive behavior in the school.
Drum roll please…introducing the one, the only, AJ Vacik! AJ is an 8th grader at Watson Junior High and an award winning drummer/percussionist. AJ not only plays on the junior high jazz band, but he is also the first 8th grader to play on the Mesa Ridge High School drum line. During the summer, AJ received a scholarship to the University of Northern Colorado Jazz Camp to learn and play with mostly high school students from across the United States. He was the only featured soloist in the large group performance at the conclusion of the weeklong event. AJ is also a rockingí student, taking all AP classes this year and doing very well. His dream is study music in college, perhaps teach music, and of course one day be in a successful band.
